Effectively tackling multiple time based ads

SPAR's new brand campaign focuses on “effe maatschappij” meaning “busy society” centering around the bustling nature of modern life. The "effe sparren" campaign aims to encourage the target audience to quickly (effe) visit a nearby SPAR, emphasizing that there is always a SPAR close by. 

Adwise's task was to create an “effe sparren” campaign that would be as effective and contextual as possible. They wanted several ads to be served throughout the day at specific times aligned with meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack. However, they needed to streamline this process without constant back-and-forth changes. Instead of managing each ad separately within Meta, which would be a cumbersome approach, Adwise utilized Hunch to automate the entire process.

From feed to feast: Full automation for time-driven and contextual advertising

Adwise created a custom made localized feed that included all SPAR stores in The Netherlands. For each store, 4 different ads (4 rows in the feed) were generated based on time formulas: breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Adwise utilized Hunch's Automated Campaigns to create a single ad set (referred to as the Master ad set) for all SPAR locations and defined a parameter for the ad set split. 

With this information, Hunch swiftly generated all other ad sets, allowing Adwise to complete the entire campaign structure within seconds instead of having to manually configure each individual ad set.

Using a time formula in the feed allowed for retrieval of the current time, which was then used to determine whether the meal should be classified as breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner. Furthermore, a dynamic status and catalog filter were added into Hunch, which automatically set the status of various ads to active or paused.

14 hours saved on the campaign setup alone

Thanks to the accurately set time formulas, ads for specific meals were automatically shown at relevant moments. “Hunch's automated solutions enabled us to save 14 hours during the campaign setup and additional hours on execution, as the ads no longer needed manual activation and deactivation multiple times a day” - says Zoë Koedam, Social Advertising Marketer at Adwise.

In addition, the “effe sparren” campaign achieved a 17% decrease in CPM and a 612% increase in video completion rate. Adwise also gained an average of 2 extra hours per month using Hunch's powerful automation.
