Open Partners teamed up with Hunch to try a fresh, innovative approach to increase pub bookings and get more people through the doors of Greene King pubs during the Euros. Greene King is the country’s leading pub retailer and brewer with over 1600 pubs, restaurants and hotels across England, Wales, and Scotland during the Euros.
The main goal was to heavily increase pub bookings and footfall at Greene King's pubs by using a more personalized and relevant advertising approach, rather than BAU ads. On the flip side, the main challenge was figuring out how to easily create and handle thousands of unique, tailored ads to support each individual pub.
The success of the campaign was measured by tracking online pub bookings as well as the number of people who actually visited the pubs via a footfall measurement partner.

The strategy was focused on using Hunch’s solutions to tap into location data and real-time sports schedules, making it easy to create super relevant and localized ads on Meta.
How the automated workflow looked like
To make things fully automated, we set up a workflow where Open Partners just had to enter the countries playing and the match date. Then, with a catalog sync, this info showed up in a creative promoting the game and highlighting the nearest Greene King pub.
